Best Waterside Hangout
Call Dockside what it is, An awesome waterside deck/bar that serves your favorite seafood dishes. Want to just hang out, watch the boats, drink and eat great finger food. This is it! The no nonsense menu delivers. The Goat Cheese Artichoke Dip will have you licking the bowl. We all love Dockside. Kudos to Dockside for leaving their chairs and tables on the deck during the lockdown. We often picked up a six pack and wandered down for a safe, outdoor change of scene dreaming of better times.

The Fish House is definitely a seafood spot but if your not feeling fish the menu delivers. Dine on the water or inside a cozy seaside cafe. Chicken, Steak or Seafood tacos always satisfy. The Crab Melt knocks it out of the park. So much on this menu to celebrate. You'll be glad you came. Dockage available at The Bridge Tender Marina, up to 23'. Bluewater delivers on so many levels. OK, to be fair Bluewater is across the bridge but we had to include it here. The dining room is contemporary and elegant staying true to the scene, The dining deck keeps the vibe with a casual setting. Seafood is the focus but don't ignore the Baby Back Ribs or the Fried Green Tomato BLT. Everything is well done and presented with flair. The outside deck has music in season. Don't be surprised to find a crowd dancing and celebrating a beautiful spot.

One of Wilmington's favorite beer gardens that also has great food. Always a nice selection of their own beer as well a local favorites. Something for everyone on the food menu, burgers are top shelf. Get the tots on the side with beer cheese dip, can you say CRISPY! Appetizers wide ranging, some are great for a meal. Music and other fun activities always on tap, the Groove Market on Saturdays is worth the trip. We could go on an on...check it out.

Looking for an experience for dinner, check out Ceviche's. Cozy spot for lunch or dinner with a Panamanian vibe. Dine outside on the front porch or out back on the patio, the dining room is an experience too. Ceviche's has so much to offer it's not just a meal, it's a trip. The Blackened Scallops with Slow Roasted Pork Belly is to die for. Drinks and deserts never disappoint. Reservations on the weekend or every night in season.

Jerry's is old school dining at it's best. Quaint and dark dinning room sets a relaxed vibe. White table cloths, candle light and great service make Jerry's a great spot for relaxing with friends and enjoying fine cuisine. This is my daughter's go to for Duck, the Chateaubriand is mine. Much of the menu is locally sourced. The sea food always shines at Jerry's. Don't be put off by the location, in a strip mall on Eastwood, once inside you are transported. When the evening is special we go to Jerry's, well known by locals. Reservations suggested, especially in season.

Sweet N Savory is a Wrightsville Sound institution. Open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. It's all here! Think about what you want and it's on the menu. Killer breakfast with omelets, breakfast bowls, baked goods and good old fashion bacon, eggs and toast done with flair. Lunch and dinner offer a wide range of selections, this is where I get my Reuben. A good selection of home made soup is always ready. Can't miss here, bring the crowd!

Good old Lounge and Restaurant, relaxed but sometimes a party may break out. Small and comfortable with a family friendly atmosphere. Menu changes weekly, fried green tomatoes are a staple. The Blue Corn Crusted Avocado knocks my socks off. Always a great selection of Sea Food, Steaks and Chicken dishes. Another can't miss for a night out. Reservations in season.

You want brunch with all the trimmings, this is it! The Toastery serves up all things breakfast till 2pm daily. Great Coffee, fresh OJ, eggs every way, long list of Benedicts. Like your corned beef hash brown and crispy, they'll do it. Pancakes and waffles for everyone. Something new on the menu is the breakfast pizza, served with sausage gravy, OH MAN!

This is where I get my double Espresso to kick start the day. Great people, cozy indoor cafe or eat outside on the covered patio. They close at 3. YUM!
